AB Party executive council election completed


After the counting of votes till late night, the result of the National Executive Council election of Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party was announced at 2.30 am on Saturday. Earlier, on 27th and 28th December from 10 am to 4 pm, AB Party executive council elections were held in a joyful atmosphere and enthusiasm.

Election Commissioner, former District Judge Akhtarul Alam announced the results live at 2.30 am after continuous counting of votes. 21 members of the executive committee were elected by direct vote of 315 members of the central committee. Where the total number of candidates was 60.

The Election Commissioner announced the votes obtained by 60 candidates and the names of 21 winners one by one. He said that the total number of voters was 315 and the voting rate was about 98 percent. 6 votes were invalidated due to voting errors.

Notably, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party made its debut on May 2, 2020 with a political commitment to serve and solve problems in the political arena of Bangladesh. After fulfilling all the conditions, the previous fascist government did not register the AB Party, but after the fall of the dictatorship, the AB Party was registered through a court ruling. After registration, the first council decision is taken. The 1st council of the party will be held on January 10 and 11. On January 10, the election of AB Party chairman will be held with the rejection vote of about 2 thousand councilors across the country. As part of this, the election of the National Executive Council was held today. The general secretary of the party will also be determined by the direct vote of the members of this national executive council on January 11.

21 members of the National Executive Council have been elected, Mojibur Rahman Manju, Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, Professor Dr. Major (Retd.) Abdul Wahab Minar, Barrister Zobair Ahmed Bhuiya, Abdullah Al Mamun Rana, Barrister Sani Abdul Haque, Barrister Nasreen Sultana Milli, Anwar Sadat Tutul, ABM Khalid Hasan, Aminul Islam FCA, Shahadatullah Tutul, Md. Altaf Hossain, Lieut. Colonel Md. Didarul Alam (Retd.), Jahangir Kasem, Barrister Khan Azam, Barrister Abbas Islam Khan, BM Nazmul Haque, Engineer Md. Lokman, Golam Farooq, Md. Abdul Bachet Marjan and Lieut. Col. Helal Uddin Ahmed (Retd.).

Contesting candidates and their representatives were present during the declaration of results.
