BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, if you want to cancel Awami League in any other way, they will not last. Awami League should be canceled through people's vote. Defeat the Fascists by overwhelmingly voting to cancel them. Canceling in any other way does not bring benefits.
He said these things at the round table meeting titled 'Take Back Bangladesh: Citizen Thought' organized by Voice for Democracy and Voter Rights at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday (November 12).
Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, we all brought down Hasina. Now we all have to build a country together. BNP is not only revolution, BNP solidarity. BNP is talking about nationalism in Bangladesh through national unity. What we establish through national unity will remain.
This senior leader of BNP said that the narrative that is being created by keeping the people out is not acceptable to the nation. Sheikh Mujib had a statement after independence, dictatorship had one and the fascist Sheikh Hasina had a statement. Fascist Sheikh Hasina said that democracy is above development. But development has to go hand in hand with democracy. Development without democracy leads to pocket development. Now the only discourse will be to return the ownership of the people of the country through elections. I don't want to hear new statements beyond that.
Regarding reforms, he said, reforms are not new for BNP. Khaleda Zia proposed the Vision 2030 reforms in 2016. Tariq Rahman also proposed 31-point reforms based on the opinions of all the parties in the simultaneous movement. A national government will be formed not only with everyone, but with representatives of all anti-fascist parties for implementation. An unelected government has no chance to reform that way through its own thinking and philosophy. But we have no objection to implement all the reforms that are agreed upon.
BNP is committed to the implementation of 31-point reforms – Amir Khosru said that after 16 years, BNP has turned into pure gold. BNP leaders and workers have learned to sacrifice, learn to give blood and learn to give life. We will not stop fighting for democracy, fighting for human rights and fighting for the right to vote.
He also said that we will not allow the interim government to fail. I am going to support. The country needs to be brought back on the right track.
Voice for Democracy and Voter Rights convenor Mustafa Kamal Majumder chaired the meeting and BNP executive committee members Abu Naser Rahmatullah and others were present. In addition, former assistant professor at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology presented the main article. M Mujibur Rahman.
