According to Uttara Paschim police station sources, Amir took part in the student-public movement on Jasim Uddin Road of Uttara Paschim police station on August 5. At that time, the leaders and activists of various organs and affiliated organizations of Awami League attacked the protesting students. The assailants fired indiscriminately along with cocktail explosions. Amir was shot. The seriously injured Amir was rescued and taken to the local Medical College for Women and Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
In this incident, Amir's father Khurshed Alam filed a murder case at Uttara West Police Station on November 2.
