The resignation of another leader of anti-discrimination student movement in Jessore

Sajib Hossain, the joint convener of Jessore district branch of the anti-discrimination student movement, has resigned after complaining that the BCL leaders and activists have been rehabilitated in the committee.

On Saturday (November 30) at around 7 pm, he held a press conference at Press Club Jessore's auditorium and resigned. He was present at the press conference alone. Sajeeb is a third year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of Jessore University of Science and Technology.

Jessore district committee for the next six months was published in a circular signed by the convener of the organization Hasnat Abdullah and member secretary Arif Sohel on November 26. In Jessore District Committee Rashed Khan was approved as the convener and Jesina Murshid as member secretary of the 101 member committee. The day after the announcement of the committee i.e. November 27, Joint Convener-1 Masum Billah resigned citing various complaints. Another joint convener named Sajib Hossain resigned in a press conference on Saturday.

In his written resignation, Sajib mentioned that Jessore's anti-discrimination student movement committee was announced on November 26. Where students have suffered extreme discrimination. Fellow fighters of today's anti-discrimination student movement played a role in banning the Awami League. But we ourselves are rehabilitating the Chhatra League. Which is dishonest with the blood of martyrs of our July-August revolution.

In response to a question from the journalists, Sajib Hossain said that those who directly attended the meeting of BCL in this city, closely involved with the leaders and activists, have been given a place in this committee. However, many people who directly led from the front with this revolution were not kept in the committee.

Anti-discrimination student movement sources said that after the August 5 movement, anti-discrimination movement workers-supporters in Jessore divided into two groups over the implementation of the central program. One side was led by Rashed Khan and the other side was led by Masum Billah. Jesina Murshid, who got the post of member secretary, was initially with Masum Billah but later joined Rashed Khan. It has been claimed that many of Masum Billah's supporters have been deposed in the committee. And those who got the post, they also did not get the desired post. Due to these reasons, there have been indications of the resignation of many more members of the committee.
