The police recovered the hanging body of a man named Ravi Ulla Ravi (45) from a house in Shyampur Jurain Postagola area of capital Kadamtali.
On Sunday (December 1), he was rescued in an unconscious state and rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead around six in the evening.
Ruhul Amin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kadmatoli police station said, we received a 999 call and found him hanging from a fan in a house in Postgola in Shyampur. Later, he was rescued unconscious and brought to Dhaka Medical, where the doctor declared him dead.
He also said that we came to know from the mouth of local people that Ravi Ulla used to do business. Depressed due to many debts, he committed suicide by hanging himself under stress. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report.
