The first meeting of the National Unity Commission will be held on Saturday with the political parties. Professor Muhammad Yunus will address the chief adviser at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital from 5pm to 5pm.

The interim government formed after the mass uprising is emphasizing the reform of the state. The six reform commissions formed for this have already submitted reports along with recommendations. However, there are disagreements among the political parties over the recommendations of the Reform Commission. In this situation, the government has formed the National consensus commission to implement the reform through the consensus of all parties.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification regarding the National consensus commission on Wednesday. A seven -member National consensus commission has been formed with the president of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus. Ali Riaz, the head of the Constitution Reform Commission, has been made vice -president of the commission. The National consensus commission will start working on February 7. The Commission will discuss with the political parties and forces to form the national consensus to consider and accept the recommendations of the commissions for the reform of the election system, police, judiciary, public administration, constitution and corruption in the next election. The period of the commission will be 6 months from the start date.

Asked about this, the interim government's forest, environment and climate adviser Syeda Rizwana Hassan told today's newspaper on Thursday evening that a commission led by the chief adviser has been formed to reach the consensus. The Commission will discuss with the political parties and take the initiative to reach a consensus on reform.

It is reported that the meeting with the political parties will officially start work. For this reason, political parties have been invited by the government to discuss the newly formed commission.

Sources say that the meeting, which is being held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, will also attend the political parties, national civic committees, anti-discrimination student movement and civil society representatives. Sources said that there will be separate meetings with the parties after the meeting.

Before attending the meeting, leaders of various political parties, including BNP-Jamaat, have expressed their thoughts on the national consensus commission. Although no one spoke about it. They said Saturday's meeting would be known for the reason for the initiative and the attitude of the government.

When asked, BNP standing committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku told today's newspaper, there is no opportunity to say much now. However, the BNP leader's opinion on the formation of this commission said, 'No matter how initiative, there is no alternative to the quick election to relieve the people. Without the elected government, the country will not return to the country. That is why the election program is now demanded. Everyone except Jamaat is now seeking an election. In the last 6 months, people have not been relieved. If there is no election, the relief will not return in the next one year. '

Ruhin Hossain Prince, general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh spoke on the National consensus commission. He said that the commission that was formed, could not be said without seeing the details. As much as the reforms need for the elections, they should go to the polls in the fastest time. Whatever is needed to reform the electoral system, it will be the main task of going to the elections on the basis of consensus.

Although the anti -fascism movement before the change of change, there has been a division among political forces in various issues, including elections and reforms. BNP and Jamaat -e -Islami, the two major political parties on elections and reforms, are currently staying at the two poles. After completing the minimum reforms, the BNP and its allies want national elections in a short time. On the other hand, several other parties, including Jamaat, are talking about the national election program at the end of the necessary reforms.

After a meeting with the Election Commission yesterday, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar said, “National elections cannot be made without reform. Political analysts have thanked the BNP-Jamaat and their allies in such a opposite position, but the initiative of the national consensus will be successful.

Asked about Jamaat's thoughts on the National consensus commission, the party's central publicity secretary Matiur Rahman Akand told today's newspaper, “The Commission has a meeting. We have been invited there. After going to that meeting, we will understand what the government wants to do through this commission, what is his terms of reference, in some cases they will work, how to form a consensus – we will give a detailed statement. '

Regarding the discussion on the Commission, President of Citizens Unity Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, “The discussion must begin. Now what it does, in some way, what, about what, one is not a matter, 5 commissions, of which 3 reports are made. There should be talks about these, then it can be understood. You have to see what their suggestions are. Nothing can be said in advance. '

Saiful Haque, general secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party, considered the meeting of the National consensus commission to be positive. He told today's magazine, “We have a common position on reforms, which we are saying. Beyond that there are some issues that people are discussing. We will discuss them. After the discussion, I will understand after the minimum consensus of the discussion. '

Hasnat Qayyum, chief coordinator of the state reform movement, said the government's meeting with political parties was positive. “We consider it positive despite some defects,” he said. But first they (the government) have to listen to, what do they talk about. Later we will sit down and decide what to say. We think this discussion needed to begin in advance.
