Smuggling arrested with 9 bars of gold in Chuadanga


BGB-6 battalion conducted a raid in Chuadanga and arrested a smuggler named Ruhul Amin along with 9 bars of gold worth about one and a half crore rupees.

The arrested Ruhul Amin (21) is the son of Rafiqul Islam of Azampur village of Darshana municipality of Damurhuda upazila.

The matter was confirmed in the Chuadanga-6 BGB press release on Sunday (December 8) evening.

According to the notification, based on the news that a shipment of gold will be smuggled through the responsible area of ​​Darshana BOP, Patrol Commander Naik Md. Ziaur Rahman took a position along the Dugdugi Bazar paved road with his force. Around 2pm, a suspect was arrested while crossing the area on a motorcycle. His motorcycle was later searched and 9 bars of gold weighing 1 kg 178 grams wrapped with black scotch tape were recovered inside the headlight cover.

Chuadanga BGB-6 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Syed Mohammad Zahidur Rahman said that the arrested accused has been handed over to Darshana Police Station and the seized gold has been deposited at Chuadanga Treasury Office.
