Saudi Arabia's request to protect the rights of Bangladeshi workers

The meeting discussed the improvement of domestic workers training, where Bangladesh promised to improve the quality of training by shortening the training period.

Dr. Asif Nazrul reiterated the Bangladesh government's interest in appointing more skilled workers to the mega projects in Saudi Arabia and invited the Saudi Vice Minister to visit Bangladesh.

The Government of Bangladesh proposed to launch more surveillance to prevent labor exploitation and ensure fair recruitment system. The Saudi party said the Saudi labor law is committed to protecting the rights of both parties.

Dr. Asif Nazrul promised to further strengthen security cooperation on the basis of a security cooperation agreement signed in November 2022. Both sides agreed to work together to curb inter -state crime, including human trafficking, irregular immigration and financing.

The adviser requested the royal pardon for the Bangladeshi prisoners convicted of minor crimes in Saudi Arabia, which would take into account the Saudi Vice Minister.

In the meetings, deepening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia as well as enhancing cooperation in labor migration and security was an important step.
