Personal Correspondent: Garment factory workers are protesting by blocking the road in Kachukshet area adjacent to the cantonment of the capital, demanding unpaid salaries.
The workers of Uniform Textile Limited took to the streets and protested since Monday (October 14) morning demanding their salaries. Traffic stopped on the surrounding roads.
The agitating workers said that the owners ran away without paying one and a half month salary of about 1300 uniform textile workers. The workers complained that the factory was closed on Sunday and the goods were removed. They said that the movement will continue until all the dues including the outstanding salary are cleared.
Garment workers said, we are working regularly. But the owner is not paying us. If our salaries are not paid, we will continue our agitation.
Meanwhile, on the first working day after the official holiday of Durga Puja, the common people have suffered due to long traffic jams due to this movement.
