After six years, a case has been filed naming 38 people including former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RASIK) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton for allegedly attacking the 2018 election camp. 40-50 unidentified people have also been accused in this case.

He filed this case at Chandrima police station of Rajshahi city on Tuesday (August 20) afternoon. He himself confirmed this information to RisingBD on Wednesday (August 21).
It has been stated in the statement of the case that, on the occasion of the last election in 2018, the local BNP leaders and activists nominated the candidate of Oikya Front. With the support of Mizanur Rahman, Chandrima made an election camp opposite the post office located in the residential area of Padma under police station. On December 30 of that year, Rasik Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton and General Secretary of Metropolitan Awami League (accused No. 2) on the orders of the Dw government, the accused ganged up and attacked the camp with various indigenous weapons and sticks-rods. Six years after the incident, Professor Auranganjeev asked about the filing of the case. Abdur Rahman said that he did not get any help from anyone because of BNP. Even my case was returned without taking it from the police station. I was seriously injured in that attack. Many people including my wife were injured. Army was then deployed in Rajshahi city to strengthen security. But despite trying to contact them, they did not respond. Besides, there was political pressure and death threats. That's why I filed a case yesterday after the fall of this government.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandrima police station in the city, Mahbub Alam said, the police have not yet started working in that way. The operation is going on with the army. Those against whom he (Rabi Professor) has filed a case, will be arrested. It will take some time. It is not clear when the campaign will start.
