Offenders shall not be exempted irrespective of party: Home Affairs Adviser


Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said, whoever is the criminal, he will not be exempted under any circumstances. No matter how powerful the criminal, no matter which party he belongs to, he will not be exempted. Many of the law enforcement officers who come from outside Dhaka do not know the localities of Dhaka. You have to give some time for that.

In order to review the law and order situation in Dhaka Metropolitan area, after the special law and order meeting in the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Wednesday (November 6), Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) said these things to the journalists.

The Home Affairs Adviser said, 'There has been a discussion on the issues so that money laundering does not happen. Measures have been taken to prevent rickshaws from coming on the main roads.'

He said, 'We had today's meeting to discuss the law and order situation in Dhaka. In this meeting, field level officials were present in addition to senior officers of various law enforcement agencies including police and BGB. The law and order situation in the capital has improved more than before, but how to improve it has been discussed. For example, Mohammadpur area was very troublesome. It's much quieter now than before.'

Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, 'There is also a problem with traffic or congestion. There was a discussion to remove shops from the road. In many places shops are set up on the streets leaving the pavements. The Home Affairs Adviser sought the cooperation of journalists in this regard.
