Abu Bakar Siddique Elected President, Ronzak Rizvi General Secretary
Dhaka, April 21: The biennial election of the Kushtia Journalists’ Forum, Dhaka has concluded with the announcement of a new executive committee for the 2025–2026 term. The election was held in a festive and cordial environment, though no voting took place as all candidates were elected unopposed.
On Sunday evening (April 20), the final list of elected office-bearers was announced at the Kushtia District Association’s building in Paltan, Dhaka. Abu Bakar Siddique, Editor and Publisher of Dainik Shomoyer Kagoj, was elected as President, while Ronzak Rizvi, Editor and Publisher of Eimatra.com, was named General Secretary.
The results were officially announced by Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Kajal Rashid Shaheen. Election commissioners Khademul Islam and Rezaur Rahman Rizvi were also present during the declaration. Prior to the announcement, a friendly meeting was held between the commission and the candidates to discuss the election process, future responsibilities, and strategic plans.
The newly formed committee received warm congratulations from the organization and its members. Many expressed optimism that the forum’s initiatives will gain renewed momentum under the fresh leadership.

Publicity & Publication Secretary: Tajbir Sajib (Odhikar)
Office Secretary: Md. Monirul Islam (Mohona)
Sports & Cultural Secretary: Zahidul Alam Joy (Janakantha)
Women’s Affairs Secretary: Sheikh Tunazzina Tonu (ATN News)
Executive Members: Atiq Helal (Global TV), Abdullah Zeyad (Dinkal), Shahjahan Akand Shuvo (Amader Shomoy), Faruk Hossain (Desh TV), Mohsin Ashraf (Machranga TV), Mahmudul Kabir Chanchal (Deepto TV), Md. Zahiduzzaman (Desh TV), Wahid Ahmed Uzzal (BTV), Zahir Munna (Channel i), and Sabina Yasmin (Prothom Alo).

Upcoming Events:
Originally slated for April 25, the general meeting and election ceremony will now be held on Thursday, April 24 at 11:00 AM at the National Press Club. The program will feature a farewell reception for the outgoing committee and the formal induction of the newly elected members.
