But Netanyahu's main political opponent, Benny Gantz, criticized such a move. He thinks that politics has been done at the cost of national security by taking this step.
Another opposition leader, Yair Lapid, said: 'It is madness to take such a step in the middle of a war.'
Lapid alleges that Netanyahu is undermining Israel's security and IDF forces in order to maintain his own political existence.
