Interim government's legal advisor Professor Asif Nazrul said, “All political parties have come today except the fascists and their allies.” There were differences of opinions and ideals. But everyone has declared to be united on the question of protecting the sovereignty, existence, independence and dignity of Bangladesh.
The legal adviser said these things in a press briefing after the dialogue of the political party leaders with the chief adviser at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday.
Professor Asif Nazrul said, 'Everyone has said that we have no chance to feel powerless, kneeling, weak. We will stand united against any kind of propaganda and incitement and we will keep our unity intact. If there is such propaganda in the future, we will deal with it with unity if it is provocation.'
“There is a proposal, we as a whole nation are united against India's propaganda. For this, we all can hold a rally or not – a political council or not. The main tone of this meeting was that there will be differences of opinion, path, ideology among us. But in the question of country, sovereignty and existence we are all one, country above all. We will never deviate from this. Bangladesh has no room to think of itself as powerless, weak and on its knees, it has been asked to convey this message.
The legal adviser said that the bold role of the present government against anti-Bangladesh activities in India was appreciated in the dialogue. At the same time, a stronger role is expected from the government of India regarding such activities. For this, it is suggested to seek the cooperation of the friendly countries of Bangladesh as well as the international media. Political leaders also suggested improving communication and legal skills.
Asif Nazrul said that all the agreements made by Bangladesh with India in the last 15 years during the fascist government, they have been demanded to be disclosed. At the same time, it has been demanded to cancel the agreements which are harmful for Bangladesh including Rampal. India's economic oppression of Bangladesh and its attempts to establish cultural hegemony, its meddling in internal affairs have been condemned. India has been urged to treat Bangladesh as a dignified neighbor. He said to maintain communal harmony in the face of any provocation.
After the dialogue with the Chief Adviser, BNP Standing Committee member Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain said, 'The Chief Adviser has sought cooperation from the political parties to protect the existence of Bangladesh regarding the current situation of Bangladesh, the lies of the neighboring countries. It is the responsibility of this government to protect the independence-sovereignty of the country and establish democracy in the month of victory.
Everyone has expressed consensus against the conspiracies of today's fallen government sitting abroad against the country, and those who are cooperating with them. This conspiracy is an attempt to create discord among the people of Bangladesh. We have agreed with the government that we will resist these conspiracies in the same way as we removed the fascist government through the student uprising.
“The chief adviser told us to create national unity. He will take appropriate action. Today, the political parties that we were present, all agreed to establish national unity.'
When asked if he said anything about the election, this BNP leader said, 'This government is committed to return the rights of the people. We said give a roadmap for elections by carrying out speedy reforms. After getting the roadmap, the people will go towards elections, then no one will have the courage to do the conspiracies that are going on.'
