Long queues in front of TCB trucks in caravan market, complaints of irregularities


Three products are being sold from a TCB truck near the metro station in the capital's caravan market this morning. Each customer is being given two liters of edible oil, two kg of lentils and five kg of rice. The price of edible oil per liter is Tk 100; Lentils are priced at Tk 60 per kg and rice at Tk 30 per kg.

Today TCB sales activities are going on in total 50 places including Karwan Bazar. These 50 places are Rampura TV Centre, Palash Nagar Jame Masjid, College Gate, North Badda Main Road, Shahjadpur, Aftabnagar Ansar Camp, Adabar Police Station, Sherbangla Election Commission, Khamarbari Mor, FDC Gate, Mahanagar Project Water Pump, In front of Dhaka Medical, FDC Gate, Bata Signal (Elephant Road), Panthpath Junction etc.

High inflation has been prevailing in the country for more than one and a half years. In October, overall price inflation increased by 10.87 percent. This is the highest rate of inflation in the last three months, since the interim government took over. Food inflation also rose in October; That month it was 12.66 percent.
