Even though two days have passed, it has not been possible to recover the gold crown gifted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi or to identify the culprits. Four suspects have been arrested after a case was registered in this theft case on Saturday. Sevayat Jyoti Prakash Chattopadhyay of Jashoreshwari Kalimandir in Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira has filed this case as the plaintiff. The investigation of the case has been handed over to the District Intelligence Branch (DB). Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka has sent a special note to the Interim Government of Bangladesh requesting strong action to identify the culprits and recover the crown.
On this day, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan visited the temple and ordered to quickly arrest the culprits and recover the stolen crown. Besides, the district administration and police have also announced to give a special reward if the person involved in the theft of the crown is handed over.
Special instructions have been given to the shops so that the gold crown cannot be sold in any way or melted down or altered in any jewelery shop. Satkhira District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Monirul Islam said, 'The crown has not been recovered yet, but efforts are continuing with utmost importance.'
