Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the BNP standing committee, has expressed why the inconsistencies are still discussed even after giving so much life to the Great War of Liberation, the Ninetian Student Movement and the Twenty-four student coup. He says, 'How much life will give the people of this country, and how much will you fight. People get from primary school to high school, go from high school to college, go from college to university, gradually people improve. Gradually the people change, positive changes. And as we repeatedly go far like a snake-ludu, we cut the snake down again, try to move again, it is not acceptable. '
He said this at a seminar at the Dhaka Reports Unit in the capital on Saturday. Civil Unity organized the seminar titled 'Cyber Protection Ordinance-2021'.
Criticizing the Cyber Protection Ordinance-2021, Nazrul Islam Khan said, “Whatever needed to be changed, it was not achieved through this ordinance. Those who have been punished in this ordinance in the past will be released. But the same provision has been kept in another place, so that the same complaint will be arrested and punished. What could be more irrational than that. There is ambiguity in the provision of the ordinance. '
Nazrul Islam also said, “Those who apply the law on the occasion of ambiguity in the law, oppress the people. If there is ambiguity in the law and the people are harassed, then those who do the law to eliminate that ambiguity. '
The BNP leader said the law was made for the people. But whether people understand it, there is a question. He urged the politicians, party and civil society to inform and explain these laws. Those who abuse the law and oppress the people by excluding the people, should also have the provision of punishment and accountability. Important activities in Bangladesh are in the consensus commission. There are many issues discussed, but this cyber protection ordinance is not discussed.
Nazrul Islam Khan said, “In our country there is labor law, every worker has to give appointment letter, but 20-20 percent of the workers in our country do not get the appointment letter. Their gratuity, the benefits is not given to it, which is written in the labor law. There is no mechanism to punish or complain against those who pay less wages to the workers. '
The seminar was chaired by Mahmudur Rahman Manna, president of civil unity. Criticizing Mob Violence, he said, “What is the culture of the former Chief Election Commissioner Nurul Huda and the way Mob was created?” If he does wrong, he punishes him by trial.
Referring to the attack on AK Azad's house, former MP of Faridpur-1 constituency, he said that the culture of demolishing the house is how democracy will come in the country. The accused is being taken away by surrounded by the police station. There is no limit to the failure of this government.
Shakib Anwar, the organizing secretary of civic unity, read the keynote at the seminar. Among others, Fahim Mashurur, vice -president of Voice for Reform, Bazlur Rashid Feroz, general secretary of Bangladesh Socialist Party (Basad), Nazmul Haque Chief of Bangladesh Jassad, Dedarul Bhuiyan and many others spoke.
