The hanging body of a youth named Al-Amin (27) was recovered from a house in the South Anand Nagar area of the capital Badda police station. The family claims that the young man committed suicide due to his wife's extramarital affair.
Al-Amin was found hanging around 12:30 noon on Sunday (December 1). Later, when he was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Jamal, brother-in-law of the deceased, said that Al-Amin used to drive an auto-rickshaw. His wife was talking to another boy on the mobile phone. Al-Amin raised the issue several times. There was a quarrel between them. Even this morning, there was a quarrel between them. Later, Al-Amin went to his room and committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan by wrapping the veil around his neck. After that, the family members quickly rescued him and brought him to Dham. Doctors on duty in the emergency department declared him dead around 2 pm.
He also said that the deceased Al-Amin was from Jajira village of Sreepur police station in Gazipur. Son of Zaheer Uddin. They lived on rent in South Anand Nagar area of Badda. He has a daughter.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Md. Farooq confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in the mortuary of the emergency department. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
