Government is working to meet the needs of skilled workers in Saudi Arabia: Asif Nazrul


Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Advisor to the Ministry of Overseas Welfare and Foreign Employment. Asif Nazrul has said that Saudi Arabia has a great opportunity to send skilled and semi-skilled workers, including doctors, engineers, nurses and technicians.

At a meeting organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh with the owners and top officials of various reputed companies in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (January 26th), he emphasized on the quality of Bangladesh's labor market.

He is also the Vision 20 of Vision 20 in Saudi Arabia, such as Neom, Red C, Kiddia, Green Riyad, Amla, Diria and Roshan projects, as well as AFC Asia Cup in 2021, Winter Asian Olympics in 2021, World Expo in 20 and FIFA World Cup in 20. He highlighted the huge possibilities of employment in the global event.

Asif Nazrul sought the cooperation of the Saudi Recruitment Companies, who acknowledged the presence of skilled professionals in Bangladesh, but mentioned the challenges such as lack of information, marketing, networking, visa processes, longevity in visa processes, language barriers and lack of pre-boarding training. He assured to solve these problems and emphasized the strengthening of relations with regular labor fairs, seminars and company officials through close contact. Besides, Saudi companies expressed their gratitude for the appointment and assistance of Bangladeshi workers.

On the occasion, he inaugurated the Embassy's e-Demand Attestation System, through which Saudi companies can register online and verify the staff demand, through which transparency and mobility will bring about this work. The authorities of the Saudi companies present praised and welcome the initiative. Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Delwar Hossain welcomed the exchange ceremony.

Later, Dr. Nazrul exchanged views with expatriate Bangladeshis living in Saudi Arabia and listened to their allegations about the high prices of aircraft tickets and the additional money of the recruiting agencies. He assured to solve these problems and called on expatriate embassies to use social media and websites to increase contact with the embassy. He thanked the expatriates' remittance and promised to take further initiatives of the government for their welfare. He urged the law and culture of Saudi Arabia not to be involved in any law against law.

Regarding the franchise of the expatriates in the national elections, he said the government is verifying the possible alternatives to reach realistic decisions in this regard.

Later, the advisor distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions of “Youth Festival 2021”. Dr. to attend the Global Labor Market Conference at the invitation of the Minister of Saudi Human Resources and Social Development. Asif Nazrul is currently on a government visit to Saudi Arabia.
