Local people beat up a former member of Parliament in Chunarughat of Habiganj and handed it over to the police. Before that he raised the pistol and fired 'shots'. The incident took place at Parkul Khoai bridge of the municipality on Sunday afternoon.
The name of that member of Parliament is Rana Mohammad Sohail. This former army officer became a Member of Parliament from Jatiya Party in Nilphamari-3 (Jaldhaka) Constituency.
However, at the time of his arrest, Sohail identified himself only as a retired army major.
