The Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, former chairman of UCB Bank Rukmila Zaman for allegedly borrowing Tk 20 crore in the name of fake and paper company.
They were sued on Thursday. At the ACC headquarters, Director General of the company Akhter Hossain confirmed the case at a press conference. He said the accused had taken a loan of Tk 20 crore in the name of non -existent Imperial Trading, Classic Trading and Model Trading.
According to the ACC, the money has been reported to repay the loan taken by Aramit Cement Limited from International Leasing and Financial Services Limited.
Earlier, the court had ordered the seizure of Tk 12 crore and 5 bighas of land and blocked five bank accounts in accordance with the ACC application.
