Forest land worth Tk 50 crore was recovered in the operation of the joint forces


The Department of Environment has recovered forest land worth Tk 50 crore in the operation of joint forces in Gazipur.

On Tuesday (November 26) under the instructions of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, this forest land was recovered in Kapilatali Mauza of Rajendrapur East Bit of Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur.

120 under-construction and newly constructed illegal houses and structures were vacated in the operation. About 6 acres of forest land was freed from encroachment. The market value of the recovered land is about 50 crore rupees.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of District Administration Gazipur and under the leadership of Sripur Upazila Nirbahi Officer. Army, RAB, Forest Department and Police participated in the operation.
