Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain has requested Bangladeshi citizens, especially for students to process Canada visas quickly. He made the request when the new Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Ajit Singh came to the Foreign Ministry on Monday (January 26th). The Canadian High Commissioner mentioned these concerns and assured the highest assistance in resolving it, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
Foreign Ministry officials and Canadian High Commission officials were present at the meeting. Foreign Advisor welcomed and congratulated Ajit Singh for being appointed as a Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
During the meeting, they discussed important issues including agriculture cooperation, trade and investment, financial sector and the Rohingya crisis.
Foreign Advisor mentioned the difficult challenges that Bangladesh faced with a shelter of nearly 100,000 Rohingya and sought Canada's international cooperation with strong support for sustainable repatriation in their home country.
During this time, they reiterated the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, especially trade, investment, agriculture, capacity growth, skill development, technical assistance and people's communication with the people to further strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries.
The Foreign Advisory High Commissioner assured full cooperation from the Bangladesh government to strengthen the Bangladesh-Canada partnership during his tenure.
