The High Court bench comprising of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain passed the judgment on 24 October after hearing six separate applications made by Yunus. The petitioner's lawyer said that the copy of the full verdict was received recently.
According to the relevant lawyer, Dr. Yunus was the chairman of Gramin Telecommunications when five separate cases were filed in the Labor Court. These cases were filed in 2019 alleging dismissal of workers around the proposed trade union. Before that, the then managing director of Grameen Bank in 2010, on charges of defamation based on a statement. Another case was filed in the name of Yunus.
