Compulsory retirement of cooperative secretary


Secretary of Rural Development and Sambar Department Mosammat Shahanara Khatun has been sent on compulsory retirement by the government. Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Sunday night, sending him to retirement according to section 45 of the Public Service Act.

According to Section 45 of the Employment Act, the government can retire a person without assigning any reason after completing 25 years of service. But before that, the approval of the President has to be taken.

Shahanara Khatun was the Additional Secretary in the Security Services Department before being promoted to the post of Secretary. He was promoted to the post of secretary during the fallen Awami League government.

Shahanara was the secretary of the cooperative department until Hasan Arif was in charge as local government, rural development and cooperative advisor. Some time before the redistribution of offices from the Cabinet Division, a notification was issued sending the Cooperative Secretary on compulsory retirement.

He has been appointed to the post on the condition of renouncing any other profession, business or working relationship with government, semi-government, private institutions and organizations.
