Changes in Jobi's admission test rules, how to distribute marks

Jagannath University (JUB) will take the admission test for the academic year 2024-25 individually out of cluster system. The admission test will start from January 31.

This time in the admission test of 100 marks, 48 ​​marks will be written, 24 marks will be multiple choice (MCQ) questions. The remaining 28 marks will be based on SSC and HSC exam results.

On Wednesday (November 20), acting registrar of the university, Professor Dr. Sheikh Gias Uddin Ahmed informed this information.

He said that this year's admission test will begin with the examination of 'E' Unit Arts Faculty on January 31. Besides, the examination of the 2024-25 academic year will be completed with the examination of 'D' Unit Social Science Faculty on 14th February, 'B' Unit Arts Faculty on 15th February, 'A' Unit Science Faculty on 21st February and 'C' Unit Business Education Faculty on 28th February.

The registrar said that there will be written and multiple-choice questions from Bengali, English and general knowledge for the syllabus of the respective departments in HSC for the examination of science and business faculty and arts faculty. Besides, marks 12 and 16 will be calculated from SSC and HSC exam results.

According to the sources of the admission committee this year, the number of units will be five with the addition of new 'E' unit in the admission test of Jagannath University. As usual the students of Faculty of Science in 'A' Unit, Faculty of Arts in 'B' Unit, Faculty of Business Education in 'C' Unit, Faculty of Social Science in 'D' Unit and Faculty of Fine Arts in 'E' Unit will appear for admission test. In this, students of all departments can take admission test in 'D' unit.

According to the committee sources, the admission test will be held in two or more shifts in the academic year 2024-25. Among them, the admission test of business education and arts faculty may be held in morning-afternoon two shifts and science faculty admission test may be conducted in morning-afternoon-afternoon three shifts. However, the Central Admission Committee has recommended and suggested not to give the opportunity to take the admission test for the second time. Admission notification will come soon.
