Brother accused of killing sister

A woman named Rumi Akhter (35), younger sister, was killed by her brother's sharp weapon in a house in West Navin Bagh, Khilgaon of the capital. This incident happened on Wednesday (November 27) afternoon. In the same incident, their elder brother Babul Mia (50) was injured and undergoing treatment.

When Rumi Akhter was rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the doctors on duty declared him dead around 5:30 pm.

Rumi Akhter's sister Julekha said, 'My husband Abdus Salam is a drug addict. He would sometimes beat me at home for drug money. Today, after asking me for money, he started beating me if I didn't pay. When my Nanad Rumi came to save Akhter, she was hit by my husband. Later, when my Vasur came, my husband also hit him. Later the condition of my nuns worsened when two of them were taken to Khilgaon Khidma Hospital with serious injuries. When he was taken to Dhaka Medical for better treatment, the doctor declared him dead.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp in-charge inspector Farooq confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
