The Muhammad Yunus-led government said no case had been filed for the 'July uprising' that lasted till August 8. The Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh said that no one will be arrested or harassed in this incident.
According to a report by Prothom Alo newspaper, the Ministry of Home Affairs was informed on Monday that the August 5 student uprising led to the 'fall of the dictatorial fascist government'. With the fall of Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League government, the new journey of building a new Bangladesh without discrimination has started.
About 700 people died and about 3 thousand were injured during this movement. Many police officers have been accused for this incident, like Sheikh Hasina and her leaders-ministers and MPs. A murder case has also been filed against them.
In this regard, it has also been informed why no case will be filed against that movement. It has been informed by the Ministry of Home Affairs that the students have actively worked in the field of agitation to make this popular uprising a success. So they will not be prosecuted, arrested or harassed.
