As the overall situation is normal, the Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachari said that tourists will be able to travel to Khagrachari from November 5.
Earlier, the Khagrachari district administration imposed a 24-day travel ban from October 8 to October 31. Thousands of people involved in this sector have been in trouble since the ban on tourists.
The students of Dighinala Government Degree College took out a protest march on September 19 in connection with the killing of a young man named Mamun in Khagrachari Sadar on September 18. Clashes broke out between the two sides after the protest march moved towards Lerma Square. At one stage miscreants set fire to shops and houses in Lerma Square. Hundreds of shops and houses were burnt to ashes. Three people were killed in the clash. Soon after this violence spread in Rangamati.
As soon as the anger of this incident did not die down, on October 1, the incident of the teacher's beating to death in Khagrachari again resulted in a conflict. Tourists are requested not to travel considering the law and order situation.
