Another 133 Bangladeshis will voluntarily return home from war-torn Lebanon. They are scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11 pm via Dubai on two flights on Thursday (November 21) and Friday (November 22) under the management of the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. Among them, 76 people will return on Thursday and 57 people will return on Friday.
Sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a total of 510 Bangladeshis have been brought back to the country from Lebanon at the full government expense and 151 under the sponsorship of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). 54 people returned in the first round on October 21 with the help of Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon. 96 people were repatriated in two flights on October 23, 30 people at midnight on October 28, 36 people at night on October 29, 52 people on October 31, 70 people on November 3, and 32 people on November 5. Besides, 151 people were brought back to the country by IOM sponsored chartered flight. In all, 661 people have been brought back from Lebanon so far.
According to the embassy, ​​all Bangladeshi expatriates who want to return to the country due to the ongoing war in Lebanon will be brought home at the government's expense. Among the expatriates who have voluntarily applied to return to the country with the embassy and who have prepared the necessary travel documents including passport, Akama, arrangements are being made to send them home under the management of the embassy after completing all the procedures.
