'Ajgubi' story needs to have a limit: Asif Nazrul

Legal advisor Asif Nazrul said about the allegations brought by a YouTuber about holding a meeting in the cantonment before the fall of the Awami League government, “There needs to be a limit to the Azgubi story.” Human imagination should also have a limit. People protest if they are close to the truth. But there is no answer to such false propaganda. Of course, this is not the case only for me. It's happening more or less in everyone's case.'

He said this at a meeting titled 'Minar of Remembrance: Public Uprising 2024' organized by the Bangladesh News Agency (BASS) at the National Press Club on Saturday (November 30).

Asif Nazrul said, “It is claimed in a video that I was in the cantonment (barracks) on the night of August 3-4.” There I had a meeting with the 'Brokers of India' along with army officers. I was surprised! Human imagination should also have a limit.”

Asif Nazrul said, “I stayed there till 9 pm. Then I stayed at the house of Prof. Mustafa Mamun, a teacher of Triple-E department in Building No. 19, Fuller Road, Dhaka University. There was a fear that I would be killed or arrested.”

“And after the evening of August 4, I attended a program of online activists. Many of you have heard its audio. Where I said, 'Could kill us. Because everyone is telling us to run away.' Then that night I was at DU teacher Mustafa Mamun's house. Everything has a limit.”

Asif Nazrul said, “When someone tells me that you clear (make a clear statement about the complaint) I say, what will I clear?”

Professor Asif Nazrul feels that some people are trying to adapt Indian scripts in Bangladesh. He said that in the name of objective criticism, attempts are being made to destabilize the country, to disunite the agitators and to destabilize the interim government. 'Criticize our work, no problem. But when an individual is castigated with outlandish, false information, the criticism seems ill-intentioned.

Asif Nazrul called for constructive advice and said, “If you argue, vilify yourself, make a character, give false information, then the self-sacrifice of the students is being disrespected.”

Adviser Asif Nazrul said that false information is being spread against him, he has no complaint against anyone, he is asking everyone to know the truth. Lies, torture, oppression, accusations were the weapons of the defeated fascist forces.

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam highlighted the context of various incidents of July coup in the speech of the special guest. Mahbub Morshed, Managing Director of Bus, presided over the function. Writer Rakhal Raha, General Secretary of Public Rights Council Rashed Khan, Poet Ferdous Ara Rumi and others spoke at the event moderated by Didarul Alam, special representative of BASS.
