ACC case against former cabinet secretary Kabir Bin Anwar and his wife


The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Cabinet Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar, his wife Taufika Ahmed for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth. ACC Director General (Anti) Akhter Hossain told this information to the journalists on Sunday (January 19) afternoon.

Akhtar Hossain said that Kabir bin Anwar acquired wealth of Tk 2 crore 84 lakh 40 thousand 46 inconsistent with the known source of income. Apart from this, he has made suspicious transactions of Tk 15 crore 38 lakh 57 thousand as his 9 banks.

On the other hand, a case has also been filed against his wife Toufika Ahmed. Kabir Bin Anwar has also been accused in the case. Taufika's known source of income has been found to have inconsistent assets of 4 crore 53 lakh 73 thousand 738 rupees. 7 crore 78 lakh 62 thousand taka and 22 thousand 280 US dollars have been accused of suspicious transactions as his 6 banks.

Suspicious transactions worth Rs. 23 crore have been found in 15 banks of both. And more than 7 crore 38 lakh rupees of illegal assets have been found.

ACC started corruption investigation against Kabir bin Anwar on August 26 last year.
