The Lebanese side also stressed during the meetings that Egypt is always priority in importing potatoes, as the two parties agreed on the importance of exchanging decisions and documents related to the agricultural trade movement immediately, to ensure the smoothness of commodities, as well as the support of training programs and mutual visits to exchange experiences.
While it was agreed to exchange a study and adoption of veterinary health certificates to facilitate the access of products of animal origin to the common markets, as well as the increase in Egyptian exports of fish and their products to Lebanon from the approved establishments.
For his part, Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, said that the importance of this session in affirming the depth of historical relations between Egypt and Lebanon, and the common belief in the importance of cooperation in facing the current challenges, especially food security and the effects of climate changes, pointing to the real understandings that will enhance the flow of trade exchange and open new horizons for technical and research cooperation, in a way that serves interests The two brotherly peoples.
The meetings concluded by agreeing to hold the sixth session of the Joint Technical Committee in Beirut during the month of August 2026, and that the Lebanese Minister and the accompanying delegation are scheduled to start today the field visits to the productive and research sites and agricultural projects, in response to the invitation of the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture to them, in order to exchange experiences, transfer knowledge and distinguished experiences, to enhance joint cooperation.
