Punjab Farmers Protest News: Farmers protesting against slow procurement of paddy in Punjab have opened a road block. On Sunday evening, a meeting of farmer organizations was held in Phagwara with the Food and Civil Supplies Minister and Agriculture Minister of the Punjab Government on the issue of paddy procurement, after which the farmers decided to open the jam. But, said that the roadside protest would continue. Let us tell you that the farmers had blocked roads at five places in the state.

Farmers had blocked Phagwara on Amritsar-Delhi highway in Kapurthala district. Apart from this, traffic jam was also imposed at Badrukhan on Sangrur-Bathinda Highway in Sangrur district, Dagru on Moga-Ferozepur Highway in Moga district, Gurdaspur Tanda Highway at Satiyali Pool in Gurdaspur district and Jassi Chowk in Bathinda.
Let us tell you that under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor, farmers had blocked roads indefinitely at some places in the state. Farmers are protesting against the delay in paddy lifting and other issues. There was a meeting of farmer representatives with the ministers of Punjab for about two and a half hours, after which it was decided to open the jam.
What did Sarwan Singh Pandher say?
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said after the meeting with the ministers that the protest is going to continue till the announcement of the next strategy. The blockade has been lifted since Sunday evening. The protesters will sit on the roadside and not block the roads. Pandher said that he has been assured by the government to speed up paddy lifting.
Let us tell you that the paddy lifting process in the mandis of Punjab has been affected, because the rice mill owners of the state have refused to mill the paddy till their demands are fulfilled. Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the Punjab government has resolved the issues with the rice mill owners.
