Red card rally in DU demanding repeal of 72 constitution

Inkilab Manch held a red card rally at Dhaka University (DU) demanding the repeal of the 1972 Constitution.

On Sunday (October 27) around 4 pm, the organization held a rally at the foot of Dhaka University's anti-terrorist Raju sculpture.

Speakers in the rally said that the constitution which does not understand the language of the masses should be abolished immediately. The constitution will be for the people of the country. But the Awami League government has used the constitution as their personal property.

During this time, members of the Inkilab Manch were seen chanting slogans like Constitution of Fanshibad, Lal Lal Card, Mujibabad Murdabad, Inkilab Zindabad etc.

Sharif Osman bin Hadi, the spokesperson of the organization, said that the constitution has already been amended 17 times. So why there is a complication in canceling the constitution, we want to know.

You have seen that after the fall of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, many party leaders and activists have been released from their cases. So how is this constitution effective? The constitution of Bangladesh will be in memory of the martyrs of the July revolution. Sharif Osman bin Hadi commented that the Awami League government's deputy Chuppu cannot be removed from the post of president due to the complications of political parties.

Where the state is changing every day, why is the constitution not being repealed? Hadi said, “Is the people for the constitution or the constitution for the people?” He asked for the help of political parties to cancel the constitution.

At the end of the rally, the members of the Inquilab stage showed the red card by blowing a whistle.
