Ten members of Iran's border guards were killed in the ambush. The attack took place on Saturday (October 26) in the southwestern part of the country. British news agency Reuters reported this.
According to the country's Ministry of Interior, the state-controlled media said that Sunni armed groups are suspected to be behind the attack.
Those ten members lost their lives in an ambush in an area near the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Iran's border guards have long been involved in conflict with members of Sunni armed groups and drug smugglers in the area.
