Delhi Pollution Update: The pollution situation in Delhi seems to be worsening every day, regarding which meetings are being held every day by both the government and the corporation and different steps are being taken. On Friday, Delhi Mayor Dr Shaili Oberoi said that keeping in mind the pollution in Delhi, 372 surveillance teams have been formed, in which 1295 officers are working in day and night shifts.

A total of 15500 kilometers of roads come under the jurisdiction of MCD in which 57000 sanitation workers do manual sweeping. Along with this, 52 mechanical road sweeping machines have also been deployed. 195 water sprinklers and jetting machines have been deployed. At the same time, 30 anti-smoke guns have been deployed at the sites identified by DPCC.

The Mayor said that the Delhi Government and the Municipal Corporation take every necessary step to reduce pollution. The biggest concern in Delhi is air pollution and dust pollution. To deal with this, we need to focus on controlling illegal C&D dumping, open biomass burning and road dust.

Special attention on hotspot

According to the information of the corporation, the hotspot sites identified by DPCC are being strictly monitored by the Zonal Deputy Commissioner. Regular monitoring of 612 sites registered on the DPCC web portal is also being done. Out of 106 MCD's debris disposal sites, 55 sites have been barricaded.

Strict instructions to officials

On behalf of the Mayor, strict instructions have been given to the officials that the guidelines related to GRAP should be strictly followed. If any person does not follow the rules of GRAP, he can also be challaned. The Mayor said that we have installed 20 smoke guns at CND plant, SLF and Waste to Energy plants. 32 smoke guns have been installed on tall buildings. Smoke guns have also been installed at the construction site.
