Trees have fallen at many places due to cyclonic storm Dana. Due to this, many roads have been blocked in Bhadrak district, which are being removed by the administration.

In the latest information related to Cyclone Dana, the Meteorological Department said that the severe cyclonic storm 'Dana' is moving towards north-northwest at a speed of 10 km per hour. At 05.30 am today, it lay about 20 km north-northwest of Dhamra in Odisha and 40 km north-northwest of Hablikhati Nature Camp in Bhitarkanika.
It is raining continuously with strong winds in different areas of Odisha.

The storm will weaken by this afternoon
At present the cyclone is centered over northern coastal Odisha. The process of hitting the coast is continuing. The landfall process of the cyclone will continue for the next 1-2 hours. The storm is likely to move almost west-northwestwards over North Odisha. There is every possibility that by the afternoon of October 25, Dana will gradually weaken from the 'severe' category into a cyclonic storm.

Efforts to coordinate between officials of several states in the rescue operation

In a picture of the devastation caused by Cyclone Dana, fishermen were seen struggling as they tried to anchor their boats safely in Odisha's Bhadrak district. South Eastern Railway has canceled 150 trains, East Coast Railway has canceled 198 trains, Eastern Railway has canceled 190 trains and South East Central Railway has canceled 14 trains. Navy said that Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh are involved in the rescue operation. A comprehensive disaster response mechanism has been activated in coordination with the officers in charge in Bengal.

Heavy rain, 300 flights and 552 trains canceled due to cyclone Dana
A total of seven states are under the influence of the cyclone which reached Odisha coast late on Thursday night. Life went haywire in three of these states. Three boats capsized in Shamsherganj and Farakka in Bengal due to the storm and 16 fishermen went missing. About 300 flights were canceled from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata airports. Railways has canceled a total of 552 trains. Security forces are on standby at Biju Patnaik Airport. Flight services are halted.

Airports closed: Kolkata and Bhubaneswar airports will remain closed for 15 hours.
As a precautionary measure, it has been decided to keep the airports in Odisha and Bengal closed. Kolkata and Bhubaneswar airports will remain closed for 15 hours from Thursday evening i.e. even today.

Advice not to visit Jagannath Puri and Konark temple
In view of the cyclone, officials have advised devotees not to visit Jagannath Temple in Puri. Efforts are being made to minimize the impact of the disaster on the 12th century Puri temple. Temporary tents have been removed from the premises. Sandbags have been placed on asbestos roofs. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has closed the 13th century Sun Temple in Konark for two days. Tourists have been barred from visiting the beaches.

Life has been badly affected in Odisha due to heavy rains and winds. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a danger of light to moderate floods in many areas of Odisha in the next 24 hours. The districts where there is a possibility of flash floods include Angul, Balasore, Boudh, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri.
