Another 31 expatriates are returning from Lebanon

Personal Correspondent: Another 31 Bangladeshis returned home from Lebanon today in the third phase.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut said that 31 Bangladeshis will go to Jeddah from Rafiq Harari International Airport for the third round of return home on Thursday morning local time in Lebanon. From there they are scheduled to reach Dhaka around 1 pm on Thursday.

A total of 1,800 Bangladeshis have registered to return home from Lebanon. Each of them is being brought back to the country in stages.

Earlier, the first batch of 54 Bangladeshi nationals stranded in Lebanon returned home on Monday evening on October 21. In the second phase, a total of 65 Lebanese expatriates, including two newborns, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday evening at 5:34 pm after a stopover in Jeddah on a Saudi Arabian commercial flight (SV 810).

Repatriation efforts are being coordinated in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to ensure the safe return of Bangladeshis affected by the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.
