Ranji Trophy: Shreyas Iyer will not play the next match for Mumbai, why did he take the break? MCA told

New Delhi. Shreyas Iyer will not be able to play in Mumbai's next Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Tripura in Agartala due to personal reasons. A Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official confirmed to PTI on October 23 that Iyer had requested some time off from Mumbai's senior men's selection committee and his appeal had been accepted.

Iyer has played all three home matches of Mumbai this season. He scored a half-century to help Mumbai win the Irani Trophy before scoring 142 runs in his second Ranji match against Maharashtra. Mumbai have also ruled out Prithvi Shaw for the match against Tripura, while key middle-order player and India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav will not play the next few matches as he was available only for the second round.

Kapil Dev Net Worth: Once upon a time he used to get Rs 1500 for a match, today his net worth is crores, from where does Kapil Dev earn so much?

Iyer's performance was not good in the last few matches. But now he has made a comeback and is continuously doing well. He has not played for Team India since August. He made a comeback in Team India in August against Sri Lanka. Iyer is eyeing a place in the Indian team by performing well in Ranji. If he continues to perform like this, he can definitely make a comeback.

Mumbai squad: Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Akhil Herwadkar, Siddhesh Lad, Suryansh Shedge, Hardik Tamore (wicketkeeper), Siddhant Adhatrao (wicketkeeper), Shams Mulani, Karsh Kothari, Himanshu Singh, Shardul Thakur, Mohit Awasthi, Juned Khan , Royston Dyce
