On Monday (October 14), the leaders gave these views in the meeting of the central board of directors of the democracy stage at the central office of Nagrik Oikya.
Responding to the government's position on the issue of Sheikh Hasina's travel document, the leaders of the platform said, “The Indian government's travel document issue to Sheikh Hasina, the main accused of genocide, is contrary to the spirit of the student uprising, and the statement of the foreign adviser has hurt the people's desire.”
They said, “Giving this special facility to the accused of genocide like Sheikh Hasina, accused of hundreds of murder cases is contrary to the spirit of the July-August student uprising.” Despite the issue of Sheikh Hasina's travel document, the statement of the foreign adviser of the interim government on relations with India has hurt the aspirations of the people of the country.
For the interim government, the leaders said, 'The government should immediately seek a formal response from India regarding the issue of asylum and travel document to the genocidal Hasina. At the same time, Sheikh Hasina and the ministers, MPs and others who fled to various countries including India should be brought back to the country and brought under justice.
