Bangladesh Nezam Islam Party Executive President Maulana AKM Ashraful Haque said, 'seat-based election system is a settled issue. There is no room for reform. Those who are demanding this strange electoral system may be demanding it without understanding it. Or else they are making such demands to rehabilitate Awami League by getting involved in Indian conspiracy.'
He made this comment in a statement sent to the media on Monday (October 14) night.
Maulana AKM Ashraful Haque strongly condemned and protested the demand of 'proportional election' in India's formal election system in the upcoming national elections.
In the statement, he further said, 'Demand for this novel approach to electoral reform will play a decisive role in rehabilitating fallen fascism. Because there is no possibility of single-handedly authoritarian Awami League or any candidate of their allies winning any seat anywhere in Bangladesh in the future. But this strange electoral system will make them likely to win several seats in the fight against the calculation of proportional percentages. Which the people of this country will never accept in the changed situation after the anti-discrimination movement.
At that time, he also warned that nothing will be done in this country on the prescription of India.
