On the guidelines in view of cyclone 'Dana', Assistant Fisheries Officer in Bhadrak, Sandeep Behera, said, 'There are 911 registered boats in Bhadrak. An order has been issued by the government that fishing is closed till 26th. The order was issued from the 20th.

People are being taken to safe places
Due to cyclonic storm Dana, the work of evacuating people from the storm affected areas is going on. People have been kept in safe shelters in Bhadrak district. Bhadrak district collector Dilip Rotrai said that we are evacuating people from the affected areas. Some people are on the way and most have been shifted to safer places. Some people were brought from their homes by the police because they did not want to leave their homes. Three NDRF, two ODRF and four fire department teams have been deployed.

Strong winds start blowing due to the sound of the storm

Flights canceled from 6 pm today
In view of the situation, Kolkata airport authorities have decided to cancel all flights for the next 15 hours from 6 pm on Thursday. Airport Authority officials said on Wednesday that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of passengers.

288 rescue teams deployed, 6,000 relief camps set up
The government has deployed 288 teams of NDRF, fire personnel to deal with the emergency. Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said that more than 3,000 villages in sensitive districts have been identified, from where the process of evacuating about 10.60 lakh people has already started. Apart from this, about 6,000 relief camps have been built.

Meteorological Department Director General Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that the process of the cyclone hitting the coast will begin on the night of October 24 and will continue till the morning of 25th. He said its speed could reach up to 120 kilometers per hour before hitting the coast. He said that the process of its hitting the coast is usually slow and takes about five to six hours. According to the latest information, 'Dana' has been moving towards north-west at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour in the last six hours.

The Meteorological Department said on Wednesday that the cyclone is likely to hit between Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district and Dhamra port in Bhadrak district near the Bay of Bengal on Friday morning. Meanwhile, in view of the possible threat of the cyclone, the state government has already ordered the closure of schools.
