The ousted Awami League claimed that the people were fed up with the inefficiency and lawlessness of the interim government and said, “People have now started saying – what beautiful days we used to spend.”

This was stated in a statement signed by Biplab Barua, the office secretary of the party, on the verified page of Awami League on Facebook on Wednesday (October 16).

It has been said that the present government has been working against the values ​​and spirit of the liberation war since the beginning. Various steps are being taken to destroy human values ​​and the spirit of liberation war in a well-planned manner. They are hostile to the brave freedom fighters and believers in the spirit of the liberation war. Misusing the state apparatus to eliminate the pro-liberation forces from national politics, carrying out mass arrests on false charges.

The statement said, the state has established anarchy in the country, which is known as Matsyanaya. Fed up with the government's inefficiency and lawlessness, the people have already started saying, 'What beautiful days we used to have.'

Mentioning that the establishment of the Bangladesh state was led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, it said that the contribution of Bangabandhu's faithful colleagues, the freedom-seeking people of the country and his family was indelible. But we can see that all the individuals, institutions and symbolic structures of the liberation struggle are suffering from the vindictive behavior of the government. As a result of this, Bangabandhu and national days related to national history are decided to be excluded from the constitution.

Condemning and protesting such a decision of the government as vindictive, Awami League's statement further said, 'The significance of these days from our national history cannot be denied under any consideration. No one can 'hold' us by pressing the reset button. Our hope is that against violence and hatred, all national and national mistakes will be lost in darkness, our wrongs will stand in the judgment and all evil forces will be destroyed in our voice, 'Tell the truth and walk in the right way'.

It is said in the statement, that the days which are going to be canceled due to the hatred of the government, Bengalis will observe socially and culturally with utmost compassion as always and will firmly say, 'We will come back to the banks of the rice paddies'.

Awami League has claimed that the Bengali nation rejects with hatred the intention of wanting to fuel the politics of division and reactionary evil forces by erasing the national history of Bengali by pressing the reset button. The party claims, 'The whole nation and people inspired by the spirit of the liberation war will give a suitable response to the evil actions in unity.'
