Salah Uddin Ahmed has urged everyone to be alert in this regard, alleging that the friends of fascism are plotting to create a vacuum in the post of President.
BNP Standing Committee member made this call in response to questions from journalists at the chairperson's office in Gulshan on Wednesday (October 23).
“The presidency is a constitutional post or an institution… the highest constitutional post,” he said. If there is a vacancy in this position even through sudden resignation, it will create a constitutional vacuum, a state crisis will be created.”
“If the transition to democracy is delayed, obstructed or thorny by creating a crisis of state – this is not desirable for the nation. So we are calling on everyone to be vigilant so that the degenerate fascism and their cronies do not do any kind of conspiracy, they cannot do anything else here and we are united, we will fight all these conspiracies unitedly.”
You are the president. When asked if he wanted Sahabuddin's resignation or removal, he said, “Vacancy in the post of President will create a state crisis at the moment… It will create constitutional complications which the nation does not want.”
Earlier at 10:30 am, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Salah Uddin Ahmed, led by BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at Rashtriya Guest House Jamuna.
