Arab Finance: Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, met with Sadat Oglu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish company for manufacturing pumps, Terbosan, to discuss opportunities to transfer and localize the pump industry required to implement water and sanitation projects and establish a factory for the company in Egypt, according to statement cabinet.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed the Egyptian state’s interest in strengthening cooperation and partnership with specialized Turkish factories to localize the industry locally. He also discussed with company officials their plans to be present in Egypt through investment to establish a factory to produce all types of pumps. Sadat Oglu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Turbosan” pump manufacturing company, confirmed that one of the most important current goals is to increase the volume of industrial and commercial cooperation between Türkiye and Egypt.
He pointed out that the factory aspires to develop relations and increase cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, and it is planned to have a strong presence in Egypt by concluding partnerships with local and national companies for the purpose of exchanging experiences, transferring knowledge, and increasing cooperation in the field of pump manufacturing.
Terbosan Company officials gave a presentation on the history of the factory, its branches in the world, and the volume of its production of various types of pumps used in the implementation of drinking water and sewage plants, water desalination plants, chemical injection, and the transfer of slurry resulting from purification operations and sludge resulting from sewage treatment operations. They also reviewed the modern technologies adopted by the factory. The latest engineering programs and modern devices used in design and manufacturing.
El-Sherbiny discussed with the factory representatives the possibility of cooperating with all manufacturing bodies in Egypt for the purpose of exploiting the experience of local factories and their presence inside Egypt and their previous studies on local needs and specifications in force in Egypt, and the importance of studying the needs of the Egyptian market and neighboring markets. Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, referred to the measures taken by the Ministry in cooperation with its various affiliated bodies, including updating the technical specifications, standardizing the tasks required to implement the projects, and inventorying all the required needs during the next 5 years, which allows encouraging the localization of the electromechanical equipment industry.
