NDP MPs, who had earlier supported the Justin Trudeau government, have termed RSS as a terrorist organization. Also demanded a ban on BJP leaders. There was an emergency debate in the Parliament of Canada on the issue of foreign interference.

Demand for ban on RSS

According to media reports, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said, 'We should stop sharing information with India. We should not give intelligence information regarding Canadian citizens to a country and government which has been accused of carrying out attacks on Canadian citizens with the help of gangs for the last one year. He said, 'There is a violent, extremist, right-wing organization in the name of RSS…. It is very divisive and has branches all over the world, including Canada. It needs to be banned.

NDP MP Heather McPherson has called for India to stop selling arms. He has also demanded a ban on the entry of such BJP leaders who are talking about racial violence and violence against minorities. He also demanded sanctions against India.

Liberal MP Ruby Sahota said, 'Some people from my constituency came to me and showed me videos of FaceTime calls that were made with gang members jailed in India. How is this happening? How are the people in Indian jails contacting the people of my constituency for extortion? There must be some foreign interference in this.

The Canadian government had linked the murder of Khalistani Hardeep Singh Nijjar to India.
