This is because a bilateral meeting between the heads of state of the two countries is going to be held tomorrow after almost five years. While sharing information about PM Modi's meetings today, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that there will be a bilateral meeting between PM Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan city of Russia tomorrow.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, I can confirm that there will be a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping tomorrow on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. However, he has not shared any other information regarding this bilateral meeting during this period.

PM's meeting with Russian President today

After PM Modi's arrival in Kazan city of Russia today, a bilateral meeting was held with Russian President Vladimir Putin before the BRICS conference. Giving information about PM Modi's meeting today, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, the Prime Minister's first formal program today was a bilateral meeting with the host of the 16th BRICS Summit, President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed the progress made in bilateral relations since the 22nd annual summit held in Moscow in July this year. The two leaders had a wide-ranging agenda to discuss the entire range of bilateral issues including trade, economy, energy, defence, connectivity, education and people-to-people ties. Regional and global issues of mutual concern were also discussed between the two leaders. The two leaders exchanged views on a range of BRICS-related matters and President Putin expressed his appreciation for India's constructive attitude and contribution in finalizing documents related to the Kazan BRICS Summit.
