Egypt won the presidency of the International Gas Union for a period of 3 years from 2028 to 2031, after assuming the position of vice president during the period 2025-2028, according to statement Journalist.
Egypt will be represented in the new position by Khaled Abu Bakr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Taqa Arab Company and the Egyptian Gas Association. Cairo will host the 31st edition of the International Gas Conference in 2031.
“Our future vision for the energy sector revolves around three main goals: enhancing energy security by improving gas infrastructure in ineligible areas, ensuring the ability to better deal with price fluctuations, and enhancing sustainability by developing infrastructure for green hydrogen, methanol, and clean energy, which contributes to reducing emissions,” according to Abu Bakr.
