Mandi Police arrested drug smugglers in Himachal Pradesh ANN


Himachal Pradesh News: These days Mandi Police is continuously taking action against drug smugglers. On Monday, Mandi police arrested nine accused in three different cases. Among the three cases, the most talked about case is one where drug smugglers, seeing the police coming, released their pet dogs on them.

When the police arrived to raid the hideouts of Mandi's notorious drug smuggler Uma alias 'Mombatti', when she saw the police coming, she left her pet dogs towards the police. After this the policemen had to hide to save their lives. Later, the police calmed the dogs by feeding them meat and then raided the candle hideout.

Many cases were registered against accused Mombatti alias Uma earlier also.

Although the function of candles is to light the houses, but here in the name of candles, notorious drug smuggler Uma is extinguishing the lamps of many houses by selling intoxicants. Five cases have already been registered against Uma alias Mombatti. His son also has four cases registered against him for chitta smuggling. She has been arrested several times before.

He was arrested with 28 grams in the year 2006, five grams in the year 2011, two grams in the year 2019, 144 grams in the year 2021 and 13 grams in the year 2023.

Movable and immovable properties will be attached

Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma said that the movable and immovable properties of the accused will also be attached. This family had been running this business by forming a chain for a long time. Most of the family members are involved in drug trafficking. The police took action and arrested them.

The police have also obtained the demand of the accused for three days from the court. Apart from Candle, his son and nephew have also been arrested. 34 grams of chitta and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh have been recovered from them.

Three separate cases have been registered

Similarly, in another case, while conducting a raid on the basis of secret information, the police recovered 20 grams of chitta. In this case also, four people from the same family have been arrested. All these accused are originally residents of Punjab. In the third case, the team of Aut police station recovered 467 grams of hashish from two youths from Haryana and arrested them. Mandi police presented both these accused in the court from where they have been sent on police remand.
